Excursions
& Camps
Camps and excursions
provide rich and meaningful opportunities for children to practice skills
taught at school. An important area of the Victorian Curriculum is Personal and
Interpersonal Learning - developing qualities and skills to get along with
other people, to work cooperatively, to solve problems, to understand
themselves as learners (how they learn best).
We know that we have
truly learned something if we are able to apply our new knowledge to a
different situation. So when we take our students out into the community
for excursions and camps we expect to see them use these skills in the way they
manage themselves, in the way that they interact with people and the different
environment.
